Purpose of ACT IV:
"The purpose of this organization shall be to promote, assist and sustain the programs of Ocala Civic Theatre through the volunteer service of its members; to promote and enrich the Theatre through special fund-raising projects for the Theatre; and to sponsor programs through the Theatre to add to the cultural life of the community." – from the ACT IV - Ocala Civic Theatre, Inc. Articles of Incorporation

History of ACT IV:
The first organizational meeting of ACT IV was held on November 30, 1988, at the Ocala Public Library with sixteen people in attendance. These people became the steering committee for the organization. The group began to meet at the Theatre in February 1989 and planned a membership drive for April. By-Laws were formally adopted and Articles of Incorporation were filed on May 5, 1989. The first fund-raising party – "Best Foot Forward" – was held at The Appleton Museum of Art in June of that same year, netting $1000.00. Since that time, there have been many events, including dinner parties, flea markets, quilt shows, bake sales, card parties and fashion shows, as well as Gift Box sales, providing funds for Theatre activities. Items which have been purchased for the Theatre include the ladies room for the Theatre expansion, hearing enhancers, spotlights, costume shop refrigerator, concession stand freezer, hand and power tools for the shop, copy machine, file cabinets, box office stools, lobby brochure rack, wireless headset telephone systems, box office ticket scanner, wireless microphone systems and microphones, and band monitors. ACT IV pays the royalties for final dress rehearsals which are open to Marion County school students, a golf tournament hole sponsorship, a program ad, and cast and crew "strike parties". Additionally, ACT IV has provided thousands of dollars for college and Education Department scholarships.

ACT IV 2005-2006 Season:

ACT IV continued its fund-raising efforts during the 2005-2006 Season with such events as a Card Party and Fashion Show, as well as running the Gift Box in the Theatre Lobby. This resulted in ACT IV making donations totaling more than $12,000.00 to Ocala Civic Theatre during the 2005-2006 Season. At the end of its eighteenth season, ACT IV has raised and contributed more than $104,000.00 to Ocala Civic Theatre.
