MACABARET VII: A HALLOWEEN TEEN CABARET
Audition dates: September 20 & 21, 2010 @ 7:00pm
You guessed it; it’s back once again. Join the fun with our eighth annual MACABARET presentation as our talented group of teen performers act, sing and laugh the night away in this all-new, cabaret-style show with a Halloween twist. Packed with memorable music, comical commentary and plenty of Halloween atmosphere, Macabaret VIII is “not your typical night of theatre.” Students not only perform, but also serve as waiters and waitresses, splitting any tips they may collect. (Note: Proceeds from the sale of food and beverages will benefit the Education Department Scholarship Fund.)
Admission to class is by audition only. Auditions will be held Monday, September 20 and Tuesday, September 21 at 7:00 pm. Students should prepare a song, comic monologue or scene suitable for presentation in the show. Class will meet Mondays through Fridays, October 4 through - October 21 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.
This class is strictly limited to 15 students, grades 8 through 12. Tuition: $150
THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER
Audition date: October 16, 2010 from 9:00am - Noon
Barbara Robinson’s touching and classic holiday story is back by popular demand! Called one of America's most memorable Christmas stories, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever has been a favorite of young readers the world over since 1972. Funny, memorable, and outrageous, it is the story of the Herdmans, a family of incorrigible children who discover the Christmas story for the first time and help everyone else rediscover its true meaning.
Auditions for students grades 1 through 12 will be held on Saturday, October 16 from 9:00 am to noon. No preparation is necessary. Students will be asked to read scenes from the play and perform a few improvised scenes.
Class will meet Monday thru Friday, November 1 through December 2 from 4:45 to 6:15 pm. (There will be no classes on November 24, 25 & 26 during the Thanksgiving holiday). Tuition: $175
